Creekside Robotics and Coding Club (2026-27) K-5: Fridays 2:45-3:45PM; Jan 15-May 21

Crest Robotics and Computing Academy will be providing robotics classes for January–May 2027 using Lego kits and Scratch (a block based coding platform built by MIT). Classes will be held at Creekside Elementary School, Room 17, located at 19993 East Long Avenue, Centennial, CO 80016. Classes will be held on Fridays after school from 2:45-3:45PM. Classes start on Jan 15 and run through May 21. No class on Mar 19. On Mar 5 and May 7 we will be holding virtual SCRATCH coding classes. In addition, Apr 23 and May 14 are reserved as make up days, only if needed, for inclement weather and/or other emergencies.

For robotics, we focus on individual class projects where we create a small team of 2-3 children that complete a project including building and coding in each class. For coding in Scratch, each child will be working individually. We share class photos on the website with parents, and also offer parents a chance for parent teacher conferences to discuss their learning and growth. Our goal is to teach children problem solving skills and logical thinking. We also teach children how to model good and positive behaviors, learn how to work in teams and build their self-confidence and esteem by encouraging them to talk about their creations at the end of each project.
