  • Shel Gerding, Faculty Member and Curriculum Developer

    Shel has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, and has programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, Java, Basic, R and Fortran. She has been teaching Robotics and Coding to children and enjoys experiencing the creativity of young children. She volunteers for many activities including the community food bank, and teaching English to immigrant adults. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books, skiing and travelling. She is leading schools in the Boulder County and surrounding areas.

  • Ramsey Bernard, Faculty Member and Curriculum Developer

    Ramsey is a Colorado native who grew up in the Steamboat springs area. He has been involved in youth programs for a number of years in different capacities. He enjoys working with young children, helping them find and explore their passions, and helping them equip themselves for success in the future. His most recent experiences include teaching Robotics and Coding to elementary school children. Ramsey has a bachelor’s degree in environmental analysis, and has contributed to various community service initiatives. His experience also includes audio engineering and editorial work for sports magazine and local newspapers. Ramsey leads schools around the Lakewood area.

  • Sarah Aller, Faculty Member

    Sarah moved to Evergreen, Colorado nearly 20 years ago and she’s never left. As a guest teacher for the Jefferson County school district, she has ongoing experience working with children from kindergarten to high school.

    Sarah earned a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University and spent 15 years managing media relations and content marketing for tech companies across the broadcast, IT, and media & entertainment industries. When she’s not teaching or cheering on her four kids, Sarah loves a good book, coaching youth sports, and spending time with close friends.

    She enjoys using science and technology to teach kids new ways of thinking and she believes every child has a passion waiting to be discovered. Sarah is leading schools in the Evergreen and the surrounding mountain area communities.

  • Kristi OKeefe, Faculty member

    Kristi was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and moved to Evergreen with her family about 20 years ago. She has degrees in Education and Social Work from Colorado State University, and has worked with children, both professionally and in a volunteer capacity, from elementary through high school. She has several decades of experience working as an Elementary School teacher in varying capacities and currently works in a Jefferson County Elementary School.

    When she’s not working, Kristi enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, camping, and crafting.

    Kristi loves working with children of all ages, and especially enjoys seeing their unbridled creativity.

    Krist will be leading schools in the Evergreen and Golden areas!

  • Jeremy Bickel, Faculty Member

    Jeremy grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Colorado a few years ago.

    He has served in the international non-profit sector for the last seven years working in community development and has a passion for helping young people add skills to their lives that will benefit them in the future.

    He has a bachelor's degree in history, and his experiences include teaching, management, training, and international operations. He is passionate about helping children use their creativity in technology and will be leading schools in the Highlands Ranch and Littleton areas.

  • Eileen Waninger, Faculty Member

    Eileen grew up in central Indiana and moved to Colorado last year. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. She is also doing research that includes programming simulations of molecules.

    In her free time, Eileen likes reading, traveling, or picking up a new hobby. She also enjoys hanging out with friends around Golden.

  • Sabrina Xu, Faculty Member

    Sabrina is a passionate teacher with a love for creativity through any media: robotics, art, technology, music, and everything in between! She inspires students to explore the intersection of art and innovation. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Art Practices and a Master's degree in Elementary Education, Sabrina encourages students to leverage technology as a tool for self-discovery and communication.

    In her freetime, Sabrina explores the prairie. She often observes wildlife and plantlife, with a particular interest in reptiles. She draws inspiration from the principles of biomimicry, observing how nature's designs and processes can inform technology innovation.

  • Dean Myron, Faculty Member

    Dean has worked as a Park Ranger at Arches National Park, at Black Canyon National Park, and for Boulder County; as an Ecology Instructor for Denver Botanic Gardens; and worked formerly as an Economist for 13 years as well. Dean has a Bachelor's degree in Ecology, a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and a Master's degree in Applied Economics. He's an enthusiastic teacher and is personally driven by curiosity, and loves to watch his students engage their own curiosity and come up with creative solutions to interesting problems - he likes to see students not only learn specific skills, but also learn to think critically and engage all their problem-solving abilities.

    Outside Crest, Dean teaches classes on Native Plant ID, Ethnobotany, and Prairie Ecology; works in his yard to restore native habitat for pollinators; enjoys stargazing at the National Grasslands; and hiking in the mountains in the summer.

  • Daniel Hudson, Faculty Member

    A native of West Texas, Daniel has been working in Telecom since 1994. After the military, and obtaining an MIS Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M, Daniel started three telecom companies for wired, wireless and fiber internetworking. For six years, he was the host of a syndicated weekly radio show and TV news periodical show.

    In his free time, Daniel is an avid reader and enjoys movies of all varieties. An amateur percussionist, music always attracts his interest. He has owned a variety of percussion instruments as well as a sitar and a didgeridoo. If something goes fast, stops fast, or seems to defy physics, Daniel is probably interested in the tech and geometry and physics behind it. Whether under the surface of the water, in the vastness of a deep desert, or in the inky black vacuum of space, Daniel’s diverse interests make him a consummate student who enjoys sharing his knowledge.

    Education has always been a passion of Daniel’s, and the opportunity to join the Crest Team gave him the chance to combine that passion and his love for technology. Daniel is leading schools in the south Denver area!

  • Kim Sosa, Faculty Member

    Kim moved to Colorado from Keller, Texas 4 years ago. She is a proud Marine Veteran, mother of 2 boys (17 and 5), and a former junior high & preschool teacher. Kim graduated from the University of Texas with a major in communications and after 10 years in the military, transitioned to teaching and has never looked back! She loves working with children and being in education field. She has a considerable range of teaching experiences and has loved and learned something new and valuable from each age group.

    In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her family, whether it taking a stroll around Evergreen Lake, or staying in for a movie night. She loves music, art and writing and is currently in the process of writing her first childrens book! Kim is excited to continue working with children and will be leading schools in the Golden area.

  • Mandy Floreani, Regional Coach: Fort Collins, Loveland and North Denver

    Mandy moved to Colorado 5 years ago from Boise, Idaho. Mandy is an alumna of Alpha Gamma Delta and University of Idaho. She has a rich background in both technical and creative fields.

    Mandy spends her free time reading, enjoying live music, and travelling with her friends. When the weather is nice, you can find her riding around town on her motorcycle.

  • Jessica Harral, Faculty Member

    Jessica moved from Alaska to Fort Collins in 1998 to attend college and never left.

    She has a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has coding experience with programs such as C++, Matlab and Python. Jessica has also volunteered with Girl Scouts of Colorado for the last 20 years because she enjoys doing hands-on activities with children and their excitement when trying or learning something new.

    In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading, cooking, crafting or playing with her five children. Jessica will be leading schools in Fort Collins, Loveland and the Windsor areas!

  • Peter Kessinger, Faculty Member

    Peter has been a Colorado resident his entire life. He currently attends Colorado State University and is working on his Ph.D. He has a master’s in Environmental Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and has experience with computer and coding work.

    In his free time, Peter likes to hike, paddleboard, camp, and ski. He takes his dog on runs around Fort Collins and enjoys hanging out with his friends in Old Town Fort Collins.

  • Pedro Mendez, Faculty Member

    Pedro is a proud immigrant that was raised in the Midwest and moved to Colorado in 2013. A graduate from the University of Nebraska, he holds a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish Translation Interpretation. Pedro has spent over half a decade advocating for children and families in the field of early childhood education. He has worked with various non-profits leading and coaching caregivers and children on child development. Pedro is passionate about providing holistic high quality education to all children and enjoys connecting with families and children to better support them. He is excited to meet you and see your child in class!

    In his free time Pedro enjoys being with his partner and three dogs. They love going on walks, traveling, and having a nice cup of coffee. Pedro’s favorite pastimes are reading, playing video games and teaching his dogs new tricks.

  • Casey Baker, Faculty Member

    Casey grew up in central Missouri and moved to Fort Collins in 2021 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics. While her primary study is in math, her experience in STEM includes applying math concepts and

    computation to the fields of physics, statistics, computer science, and cybersecurity. Her coding expertise is mainly focused in Python, R, and Java. In her free time, Casey loves going to the farmer’s market, catching up with friends, and traveling. You can always find her in nature: paddleboarding, hiking, and watching the sunset. Casey’s next goal is to earn a Doctorate’s degree in Mathematics, specializing in cryptography.
